Re: SSL support

I can appreciate why you don't want to code what you don't need. ;) I wouldn't do it on principle. From what you say, the libraries exist so why write them again? IMO, there is way too much inefficiency in the programming world due to having to write stuff that must have been written many, many tim...

Re: SSL support

The SSL support package is not part of the 'free' version. It might be possible to 'buy' it from eXept, you may want to ask their sales people. Other option is to write SSLSocket yourself using inline-C / FFI and call whatever library OS provides. This is on my TODO list for a long time, but...haven...

Re: National letters - keyboard mapping

Funny, I've never tried to type ň :-) There is some support for "composed keys", look at class WindowSensor. There is class var ComposeTable that somehow defines key composition. Look at WindowSensor>>keyPress:x:y:view how it is used. Maybe it can be used to define ň compositon, maybe not....

New Features in Smalltalk/X IDE

Hi all, although Smalltalk/X IDE is one of the best I've ever seen, certainly there are lot of things that missing and that may make our life easier. We've already wrote some useful extensions* to the Smalltalk/X (not only IDE related) and we are going to do more. I've plenty of ideas what to do, bu...

Re: BOSS & SortedCollection?

Hi, the problem is that BOSS cannot store blocks since they keeps reference to a context objects from current thread. There is no way to store blocks. Blocks are used as comparators within the SortedCollection ( sortBlock instvar), so that's why you cannot store sorted collection. However, SortedCol...

Re: redisplay problem

Here is the code that Michael Beyl sent me couple of years ago. It dynamically adds/removes a button to/from a panel. Hope this snippet will help. |top p v1 v2 b| top := StandardSystemView new. top extent:300@300. b := Toggle label:'show' in:top. b showLamp:false. b origin:0.0 @ 0.0 corner:(1.0 @ 40...
