Re: Environment Variable

I agree: we will add some visualization to the next release (at least an "inspect current value" popUpMenu item - better, an additional column in the variable-editor). Beside that, I would like to ask for what you think which is the best way to handle variables which are modified by the te...

Re: Libraries included and containing functionality?

There are a number of additional libraries available, which provide more specialized functions: ASN1/GDMO for telco apps, CANBUS and CANOE interfacing, cryptography support. Currently being implemented is a library for QT-GUIs (capture, replay and QT-object-access). This will allow for the testing o...

Re: Cancel-Input

Ok, the next release will include both:
- a separately configurable cancel-color in the settings dialog.
- a "cancelIsOK" checkBox in the individual-steps menu; this will mark canceled steps "green" (i.e. success) in the log and report.

regards,
Claus

Re: Test Execution - Loop counter

the whole loop-business opens the door to a bunch of new requirements and questions: I often dont need (want!) the trace and logs of all iterations; actually I plan to add the following additional execution flag settings to steps which have a loop pin: - dont trace at all - only trace iterations wit...

Re: Method annotations

I do have some frontEnds already; so the parser is not the biggest issue at the moment. The idea is to have multiple frontEnds, generating intermediate code for various backends. I have frontends for ST, JavaScript (and it should also work for things like PHP, Python etc). The ST frontend's testSuit...

Re: Smalltalk/X Application Deployment in Windows

Jan, I will look at the ADDREFCELL problem (I've never seen that, so I have to figure out where it is needed/missing myself). I'll post more info later... In the meantime (as a teaser), I'd like to point you all to a little ready-to-install, and wrapped up self installing demo application which is f...

Re: parameterization

There are multiple possibilities to parametrize tests, depending on what you mean by parameterization, choose one of the following: a) for simple parameters like hostname strings, port numbers etc. you can use the Project-Environment or a TestSuite-Environment. Add a variable there and initialize it...

Re: limitations of expecco

HI, mhmhm - that is a broad question, hard to answer in one sentence. Of course, there are limitations; coming immediateley to my mind are: - due to its architecture, there are certain speed limitations in the execution engine. Some realtime stuff cannot be tested directly with expecco. In such a si...

Re: What are the expecco system requirements?

Well, I would like to add that "it depends...". Of course, if you want to run a huge test suite, which gathers a lot of log- and trace data, you would probably want to have more memory in your machine... But these days, memory is cheap, but address space is expensive. We might sooner or la...
